Bootstrapping a combat sport.
The math behind Saber Tag Mobile.
A direct walkthrough of the Mobile License. The rec-center floor share, the $15K equipment kit, the league season economics, and how Norfolk built this without a lease, a buildout, or a staff. Watch this if you're evaluating whether the league-operator path fits your capital and your hours. Read the deeper breakdown below if you've already decided.
Here's What Your Saturday Looks Like.
Not hypothetically. This is the operational reality of a Saber Tag X-treme League day, exactly what Norfolk runs, packaged for your market.
Norfolk Didn't Buy Customers.
They Showed Up.
The Norfolk operation built its participant base through community programming, word of mouth, and direct corporate outreach, zero paid advertising. The market for structured competitive light sword combat already exists in every city. It just doesn't have a league yet.
To Build Norfolk
Organic Word of Mouth
First Paying Event
In most cities across the country, nobody has built this yet, the opportunity is wide open.
Norfolk Proved The Model Works.
Before we licensed a single operator, we ran it ourselves. East Ocean View Community Center, Norfolk, Virginia. Zero rent. City rec center agreement. The numbers below are real.

| Drop-In Trial | $35 | Per session · no commitment | Walk-in pipeline |
| League Membership | $247 | Per 6-week cycle | Recurring base revenue |
| Private Group Event | $797 | Up to 20 participants | $797–$3,985 |

| Company Tournament | $2,497 | Full company · 30+ | $2,497–$12,485 |

What the Math Could Look Like (Illustrative Year 1 Example)
The question isn't whether $14,997 is a big number. The question is how many events it could take to recover it, and what the business could look like after that.
A traditional martial arts studio operator paying $4,000/month in rent needs $48,000 just to break even before year two. A Saber Tag X-treme operator who recovers their license fee within a few months (illustrative example) is building pure margin from that point forward. Zero fixed overhead means every dollar after payback is profit, not a lease payment.

Every city in America operates community recreation centers that are actively searching for new programming. You bring the league. They provide the space, the foot traffic, and the community credibility. The city becomes your marketing partner, at no cost.

You're Running Inside the Warrior Intelligence System Edge.
The Saber Tag X-treme League license isn't a standalone product, it's the Compete layer of LSTA's full operating system. That's what separates it from running your own events: your league connects to something larger, and that connection is what turns a Saturday event into a competitive pathway that keeps participants coming back.
Between events, your league participants record their form on a phone and submit it to a certified Shadow Council instructor for personal video critique, not algorithmic feedback. Real coaches, at scale, on the same standard taught at every LSTA academy. That improvement is visible on the live leaderboard, and it's the reason they keep coming back.
Participants who stay engaged between events stay in your league longer. The Wellness Platform, powered by AcadevoFit, tracks performance, recovery, and progress. Giving your members a reason to stay connected to your community on days they're not competing. Retention goes up. Cancellations go down.
This is the layer you're running. Electronic scoring backed by Century Martial Arts. Live leaderboards. Official results that feed national standings. Your participants aren't just playing, they're accumulating a record. When the Eastern Regionals open in June 2027, their ranking comes from your league.
The Saber Tag X-treme License includes the complete operations curriculum: 12 volumes covering events, corporate outreach, league management, sponsorships, and scaling. If you later want to add a full academy to your operation, you're already inside the system that runs it. Upgrade credits apply.
Train inside the WISE. Compete with the edge. , Your league is Layer 3. The rest of the system is already there if you want to grow into it.
Everything You Need.
Nothing You Don't.
The $14,997 Mobile Saber Tag X-treme License includes every system, tool, and piece of equipment required to open your first event. No buildout. No lease. No guesswork.
Why Not Just Buy Sabers
and Run It Yourself?
You can, and some people try. Here is what they run into.
- ✕ Equipment that looks similar but isn't tournament-grade
- ✕ No electronic scoring, no leaderboard, no competitive legitimacy
- ✕ No safety documentation, liability exposure in corporate and youth settings
- ✕ No federation affiliation, your events are meetups, not a competitive pathway
- ✕ No proven system. You build the format, scoring, and playbook from scratch
- ✓ Professional tournament-grade equipment, $15K value, fits in your vehicle
- ✓ Electronic scoring creates the legitimacy that makes participants come back
- ✓ Full safety protocol documentation, run corporate and youth events confidently
- ✓ National federation affiliation, your participants compete for a national championship
- ✓ Proven system: the format, scoring, equipment, and playbook are built and documented
The $14,997 doesn't buy you sabers. It buys you the system that turns a one-time event into a recurring business, and the protection that keeps it yours. You're building an asset, not running a meetup.
You Can Be Running
Within 30 Days.
This License Is Built For Operators.
The Eastern Regionals Are
June 2027.
LSTA is actively advancing on the World Games pathway. The first Eastern Regionals qualifier is confirmed for June 30, 2027. Operators who launch in 2025–2026 will have participants who have completed multiple league cycles, built competitive skills, and are ready to qualify. Operators who wait until 2027 are handing a head start to whoever launches first.
And the pathway is real all the way up: this federation already fields a Team USA world-championship competitor (GSBA Worlds, Germany 2026) and is building toward international federation recognition and a World Games bid. Your league isn’t a party rental. It’s the entry point to that ladder, and that’s what parents and competitors are actually signing up for.
An operator who launches today has 18+ months to build a roster of competitive participants before the first regional qualifier. That's not a detail. That's the pitch to every competitive athlete in your market.
Built. Betrayed.
Rebuilt by four masters.
In 2015, Edward Armstrong built a light sword martial arts academy in the United States: 68 students, Entrepreneur of the Year, featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox. Sijo Nathan Young (2× World Champion) authored the 9-form combat system that LSTA still teaches today. Sifu Nick Benseman (Hollywood stunt director, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) brought cinematic training methodology and Hollywood-grade choreography.
In 2016, the franchise that gave the sport its only international structure betrayed the warriors it was supposed to serve, and the operators who had built their leagues on it.
In 2017, Edward, Julliana, Nathan, and Nick walked away at the top, and rebuilt from scratch, on their own terms, engineered against the exact failure modes they had collectively survived.
That organization is LSTA.
The Saber Tag X-treme League license is the operator version of that rebuild. The federation structure, the referee certification, the championship pathway, all of it exists because we know what happens when a sport’s parent organization stops supporting the operators in its ranks. When you buy this license, you become part of a federation built by people who refuse to let that happen again.
The Team Behind
The License.
Before you commit $14,997 to a license, you deserve to know who designed it, who validated it, and what credentials they bring to the sport. This is not a startup idea. It is a system built by champions.
Three reasons
this isn’t your license.
$14,997 is real money. Before you read another testimonial, here are three reasons you should walk away, and three places that fit better.
The Mobile League License is non-exclusive by design. Multiple league operators can run in the same market because the format scales horizontally through pop-up events. If you want a full academy with daily classes, look at the Partner License ($47,997).
The league economics work because Saturday is your operational day: setup, league sessions, breakdown. If you can’t protect Saturdays from your day job, family commitments, or other obligations, the league won’t run consistently enough to compound.
The license includes scripts, marketing assets, federation affiliation, and templated outreach. It doesn’t include us recruiting your local cohort. If you won’t personally run the first six weeks of community-building, the league has no way to start. We support operators who do the work. We don’t replace them.
If any of those describes you, we’d rather you walk away now than wire $14,997 and stall at month three. The license is for operators ready to claim their Saturday and run.

Make sure Mobile is the right tier for you.
Three different lives. Three different licenses. Each is a real destination, not a stepping stone to the next.

Want a daily-floor academy instead of a mobile league? Skip the league and look at the Partner License.
VIEW ACADEMY LICENSE →Want to teach on someone else’s floor as a side income instead of running league events? This is your tier.
EXPLORE INSTRUCTOR →Already run a martial arts academy or studio? Test Light Sword on your existing floor for six weeks before committing.
EXPLORE PILOT →Not sure yet which LSTA operator path matches you? Four questions and we’ll route you.

Complete the application below. A member of the LSTA team will review your application and follow up within 24 business hours to discuss fit and next steps. The application itself is free. Your spot isn't confirmed until that conversation happens.
Founding-operator enrollment is capped at 100. Submitting an application does not reserve a spot, confirmation comes from the LSTA team.
Norfolk Proved the Model.
Your Market Is Next.
The equipment is packaged. The system is documented. The electronic scoring platform is live. The only variable left is when you start, and in most markets across the country, nobody has built this yet.
Every week, more operators are reviewed and confirmed. When the founding cohort of 100 fills, founding terms close. The Eastern Regionals qualifier is June 30, 2027. An operator who launches today has 15+ months to build a roster of competitive participants. An operator who launches in Q1 2027 is starting from zero with six months to go. Founding-operator enrollment is capped at 100.
